Uttarakhand: Badrinath National Highway blocked as boulders falls from hills
Uttarakhand landslide: The Badrinath national highway near Chhinka in Uttarakhand is blocked due to boulders falling from the hill on Friday.
Uttarakhand’s Chamoli police also took to its official Twitter handle and wrote, "The road has been blocked near Chhinka on the Badrinath National Highway."

Due to the closure of the national highway, many commuters, including pilgrims and tourists travelling to and returning from the Badrinath shrine got stuck.
Vehicle movement on the highway had to be restricted due to the blockage of Badrinath National Highway.

Last week also, heavy rains triggered landslides and flash floods in Uttarakhand at the same place and blocked Badrinath National Highway. A stretch of 100 meters of the highway was blocked due to a heavy landslide from a hill near Chhinka on Thursday morning due to rain.
Heavy rains and thunderstorm in Uttarakhand from last few days, resulted in landslide in the same location and the closure of the Badrinath National Highway.
Earlier, due to a rise in the water level in the Khachdu drain near Uttarakhand's Lambagad, vehicle movement on the highway was once again restricted.
