Uttar Pradesh: Man carrying saffron flag climbs atop Dargah in Prayagraj, removed by cops
PTC News Desk: A group of people created ruckus in Prayagraj on the occassion of Ram Navmi by climbing atop on the Dargah of Salar Masood Ghazi Miyan in the Sikandra area. A video of the incident has been doing the rounds on social media.
A purported video of the incident showing people associated with a Hindu organisation, Maharaja Suheldev Samman Suraksha Manch, arriving at the dargah of Salar Masood Ghazi (also known as Ghazi Miyan ki dargah) in the Sikandra area on motorcycles.
Then three men climbed atop Dargah and started waiving saffron flags and rasiing slogans. Police immediately rushed to the spot and removed the men from the dargah.
Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said that the police have initated a legal action against those involved in Sunday's incident.
"There are five shrines at the Ghazi Miyan Ki Dargah. Both Hindu and Muslim devotees come to offer 'chadar' at the dargah. Some people waved religious flags and raised slogans. They were immediately removed by the police deployed on the spot. Peace and order is maintained at the site," he said.
