Uttar Pradesh government establishes ANTF, to deploy 450 police personnel
Lucknow, April 14: The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has set up an Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and approved a transfer policy within the Police department to ensure its smooth functioning.
The policy allows for the deputation of 450 police personnel to the ANTF, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, constables, constable drivers, sub-inspectors (Confidential), sub-inspectors/assistant sub-inspectors (clerk), sub-inspectors/assistant sub-inspectors (Accounts) and computer operators.
The ANTF DIG, Abdul Hameed, said that the government had approved the transfer policy in response to a letter requesting appointments to the 450 posts needed for the ANTF to function. The department has also specified the qualifications needed for each of the posts.

The maximum age for a constable to become part of the ANTF is 40 years, and for a head constable, it is 45 years. The age limit for a sub-inspector is 50 years, and for an inspector, it is 55 years. There is no age limit for confidential assistants/clerks/accounts and computer operators. The affiliation period of the police personnel is normally three years, with a possible extension of two times for two-year periods, as required.
If an employee has special qualifications, they can also be deputed to the ANTF for a short period. The employee's integrity should not have been questioned during employment or in the three years prior, and there should not have been any negative entries or major or minor punishments against them.
They should also not have any criminal charges or departmental proceedings against them. Preference will be given to those who have done remarkable work in connection with the recovery of narcotics/drugs/liquor/weapons in the last three years. Relaxation of the qualifications and age limits for the posts can only be done after the approval of the Director General of Police, UP.
