Delhi traffic advisory: Key routes to avoid on Monday amid JD Vance’s visit
In view of the high-level visit of US Vice President JD Vance to the national capital, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued a detailed advisory for commuters travelling across central and south-west Delhi on Monday. Multiple restrictions will be in place throughout the day to ensure smooth movement of VIP convoys and to manage congestion.
Traffic restrictions: 9 am to 11 am
From 9 am to 11am , parking will not be permitted on the following roads and nearby areas:
Sardar Patel Marg
Gurugram Road
Parade Road
Thimmaiya Marg
Air Force Road
The authorities have warned that any improperly parked vehicles on these stretches will be towed away to the traffic pit located at Kalibari Mandir Marg, in front of the Bhairon Temple.
Suggested alternative routes:
Commuters heading from 11 Murti to RML Hospital should use Vande Mataram Marg via Dhaula Kuan Flyover, then proceed to Roundabout Shankar Road, Talkatora Road, and Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman Marg.
Those travelling to and from Delhi Airport and Dhaula Kuan Flyover are advised to take the alternate route via Rao Tula Ram Marg.
Traffic Restrictions: 11 am to 2 pm
From 11 am to 2 pm , traffic diversions will be implemented in Central Delhi. Parking and halting of vehicles will be prohibited on the following roads:

Janpath Road
Sardar Patel Marg
Sikandra Road

Vikas Marg
Noida Link Road (Akshardham area)

Alternate Routes and Guidance:
Travellers going from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Marg towards Janpath Road may use Raisina Road -Roundabout Windsor Place -Ashoka Road -C-Hexagon.
Those travelling from Connaught Place (Outer Circle) to Janpath can opt for Ashoka Road-C-Hexagon.
Commuters heading from Zakir Hussain Marg towards C-Hexagon should use the Mathura Road T-point to reach their destinations.
The route from 11 Murti to RML remains the same as earlier — via Vande Mataram Marg, Dhaula Kuan Flyover, Roundabout Shankar Road, Talkatora Road, and Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman Marg.

PTC Web Desk: US Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, an Indian-American and the Second Lady of the United States, arrived in New Delhi this morning to begin their four-day visit to India. The couple landed at the Palam Technical Area, kicking off a significant diplomatic tour aimed at deepening India-US bilateral relations.
Later today, Vice President Vance is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The high-level talks are expected to focus on the early finalisation of a proposed bilateral trade agreement and explore new avenues to strengthen strategic, economic, and technological collaboration between the two countries.
After concluding engagements in Delhi, the Vance family will proceed to Jaipur on April 22, where they are expected to engage in cultural diplomacy and experience Rajasthan's rich heritage. On April 23, they will visit Agra, where a trip to the iconic Taj Mahal is planned, rounding off the cultural leg of their India tour.
