UPSC CSE final result out: Shakti Dubey secures rank 1; check merit list
UPSC CSE final result out: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) officially declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024 on April 22. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now access their results on the commission’s official website — upsc.gov.in. Shakti Dubey has emerged as the topper of UPSC CSE 2024, followed by Harshita Goyal and Dongre Archit Parag, who secured the second and third ranks respectively.

The Preliminary Examination was held on June 16, 2024, with 9,92,599 candidates applying and 5,83,213 candidates appearing. As many as 14,627 candidates qualified for the Main Examination, conducted in September 2024, and 2,845 candidates were shortlisted for the Personality Test. Finally, 1,009 candidates (725 men and 284 women) were recommended for appointment to various civil services. Among the top five candidates, three are women and two are men.

Harshita Goyal (Roll No. 0101571), the second rank holder, holds a B.Com. degree from MS University of Baroda, with the same optional subject.
Dongre Archit Parag (Roll No. 0867282), Rank 3, is an Electrical & Electronics Engineering graduate from VIT Vellore, and chose Philosophy as his optional subject.
Shah Margi Chirag (Roll No. 0108110), placed fourth, holds a B.E. in Computer Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, with Sociology as her optional.
Aakash Garg (Roll No. 0833621), Rank 5, is a Computer Science & Engineering graduate from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
The top 25 candidates include 11 women and 14 men, representing a wide academic spectrum—Engineering, Humanities, Sciences, Commerce, Medical Science, and Architecture. They hail from prestigious institutions such as IITs, NITs, VIT, JNU, University of Delhi, and University of Allahabad. A broad range of optional subjects were chosen by these candidates, including political science, Ssociology, philosophy, geography, public administration, and anthropology. The list of recommended candidates also includes 45 persons with benchmark disabilities, including: 12 orthopedically handicapped, eight visually challenged, 16 hearing impaired, and nine with multiple disabilities.
