UP's Ghaziabad couple on vacation in Goa drown in South Goa's Palolem beach; bodies found

Goa, February 15: A young couple from UP's Ghaziabad, which was holidaying in Goa, drowned in Palolem beach in South Goa. The deceased have been identified as Vibhu Sharma (27) and his girlfriend Supriya Dubey (26). The police said the duo went in the waters after drinks and dinner and drowned. Their bodies have been recovered.

The Goa police said the couple was here to celebrate Valentine's Day, adding that they believed it to be a case of an accidental drowning. The police are not suspecting any foul play.

As per reports, UP's Ghaziabad couple Vibhu Sharma and Supriya Dubey were last seen walking on the Palolem beach on Monday evening. A police officer said a foreign tourist reported having heard faint cries for help on Monday evening. Since it was already dark, it was unclear where they were coming from. The woman's belongings, including cellphone, was found on the beach.

The families have been informed about the tragedy.
