UP accident: 7 killed as car veers into another lane while trying to overtake, hits auto
PTC News Desk: Six members of a family and an autorickshaw driver were killed when a Hyundai Creta hit them in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday, police said.
The Creta collided with the autorickshaw while overtaking another car. Six family members died immediately, and the autorickshaw driver died while being treated.
"We got the information early this morning. The Creta was overtaking another vehicle when it unexpectedly shifted lanes and crashed with the auto at high speeds. There were seven people in the auto. Six of them died on the spot, while the auto driver died after treatment. The post-mortem examination of all the bodies is currently underway," Bijnor SP Abhishek stated.
The victims included four men, two women, and a girl. According to authorities, the entire family was returning home from a marriage in Jharkhand.
