Unmarried people now eligible for pension; know process, age bar, other details
Pension for singles, widowers: Good news for singles and widowers as Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made a big announcement on Thursday, as he announced pension scheme for unmarried men and women and widows of Rs 2,750 per month.
Notably, Haryana is the first state in the country to allocate pensions for unmarried men and women.
The Haryana Government announced the scheme for unmarried people aged between 45 to 60 years in the state.

The unmarried people with the annual income of less than 1.80 lakh will be eligible for the pension scheme.
The Haryana Government also announced pension of Rs 2,750 per month for widowers aged between 40 to 60 with the annual income of less that Rs 3 lakh.
As per the data, nearly 1.25 lakh individuals will get benefit of the scheme.
The Haryana Government planned to introduce the new pension scheme while responding to the complaint raised by a 60-year-old unmarried man's pension during the 'Jan Samvad.'
With the Haryana election due in October 2024, political parties are gearing up, reaching out people and introducing new schemes and policies.
