PTC News Desk: In Sukma, Chhattisgarh, two paramilitary personnel were killed in action when the truck they were travelling in was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED) that Maoists had planted.

According to the authorities, the soldiers were members of the CoBRA special anti-Maoist squad of the Central Reserve authorities Force (CRPF). When the IED attack occurred, they were traveling in a truck and motorcycle as part of a road-opening patrol (ROP), according to the police.

From Silger camp, which is located within the boundaries of Jagargunda police station, the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) has been patrolling toward Tekalgudem.

According to the police, additional personnel have arrived and are searching the area for Maoists.

According to analysts, IEDs pose a serious threat to soldiers participating in anti-Maoist operations in Chhattisgarh. In Chhattisgarh's dense jungles, these roadside plants frequently hide these homemade explosives, making it challenging for patrols to find them in a timely manner.
