Toddler killed in Delhi as underage driver runs over her on Eid
PTC Web Desk: A family’s Eid celebration turned into a nightmare when their two-year-old daughter was fatally run over by a car driven by a 15-year-old in Delhi’s Paharganj. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday.
CCTV footage from the area captured the horrifying moment when the Hyundai Venue approached the toddler, Anaabiya, who was playing in the narrow alley outside her home. The driver briefly halted the vehicle but then moved forward, seemingly unaware of the child’s presence. The car’s left front wheel ran over the girl. The vehicle was reversed, and the injured child was pulled out, but she succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle belonged to a neighbour of the victim’s family, and his teenage son was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. The police have registered a case under sections related to rash driving and causing death due to negligence. The father of the underage driver, Pankaj Agarwal, has been taken into custody.
