Today's Petrol, Diesel price: Fuel prices remains unchanged for Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Noida, Chennai
New Delhi, January 25: The prices of Petrol and diesel remained unchanged on Wednesday. Every morning the oil marketing companies revise the fuel prices at around 6 am.
Today, the price remained unchanged, however, the last major country-wide fluctuation in fuel prices was witnessed in May 2022 when the Centre cut the excise duty, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman slashed excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.
The prices of retails petrol and diesel prices varies from state to state and various factors like freight charges, local taxes, and Value-Added Ta x (VAT). The cut of excise duty by the Centre, some states have also reduced VAT prices on fuels. Himachal Pradesh government on 8 January increased value-added tax (VAT) on diesel by Rs 3 per litre.

Petrol prices in different states:
In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs. 106.03 and that of diesel is Rs. 92.76 a litre.
The retail price for petrol and diesel in New Delhi is Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per litre, respectively.
The current cost of petrol and diesel in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 and Rs 94.27 a litre, respectively.
In Noida, the price for diesel is Rs 89.96 and Rs 96.79 for Petrol.
People in Chennai have to pay Rs 102.63 and Rs 94.24 a litre for petrol and diesel, respectively.

Indian Oil customers may type RSP on their phone and send an SMS to 9224992249, while Hindustan Petroleum customers need to type HPPRICE and send an SMS to 9222201122. Bharat Petroleum customers need to type RSP and send and SMS to 9223112222.
