Tirupati Laddu row | 'Keep gods out of politics', says Supreme Court; questions timing of lab report
Tirupati Laddu row: Gods should be kept away from politics, said the Supreme Court on Monday while hearing pleas around the Tirupati Laddu controversy. The apex court also questioned the timing of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's releasing the lab report claiming traces of fish oil, beef tallow, and lard (pig fat) were found in the ghee.
The top court informed the Andhra Pradesh government's counsel that the lab tests showed that the ghee examined was the rejected ghee. Furthermore, it questioned why the State saw the need to go to the press after ordering the SIT investigation.
"What was the point of going to the press until the outcome of the SIT probe?" questioned the Supreme Court.
