'They can't tolerate OBC Prime Minister': PM Modi launches scathing attack on Congress
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress on Saturday, accusing it of dividing the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) for political benefit. Addressing a rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, the Prime Minister stated that the Congress cannot accept that the country has had an OBC Prime Minister for the past ten years who has strived to lift all sectors of society.
"Congress cannot tolerate the fact that there is an OBC Prime Minister who is taking everyone along with him," Modi said.
He claimed that Congress is trying to destroy the OBC community's unified identity by dividing it into smaller caste groups in order to undermine its power.
"Congress is playing a game in which OBCs are stripped of their identities and divided into castes. Congress wants to take the identity of a large group of OBCs and divide it into castes with smaller sections. You will have to be cautious of Congress' divisive tactics. You will need to be aware of Congress' hidden goal of breaking and destroying the country. "um ek hai toh safe hain," the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi addressed a rally before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, saying, "Hum ek hain toh safe hain".
This is the second time the prime minister has used this phrase in Maharashtra. Earlier on Friday (November 8), while addressing his first electoral rally in Maharashtra's Dhule, PM Modi criticised the Congress and its allies for pitting one caste against another and urged people to remain united, stating "Ek hai, toh safe hai."
Maharashtra will vote in a single phase on November 20. Votes will be counted three days later, on November 23.
