Students sent bomb threat e-mail to three Delhi schools to shut schools, postpone exams

PTC News Desk: Three Delhi schools that received bomb threat e-mails became victims of their own students. According to the police the e-mails which later turned out to be hoax, were sent by their own students only.

A police officer said the email was sent by two siblings enrolled in the school because they wanted the exams to be postponed.

During the counselling, it was revealed by the students that they had got the idea from previous incidents of bomb threats being made to schools, the officer said. Later, the students were let go after their parents were given a warning.

Soon after receiving the e-mails, the police conducted rigorous scrutiny of the school and declared the threat to be a hoax.

The bomb threat e-mails have sparked chaos across all the schools in the national capital. Several incidents of similar nature were reported in the past 11 days.

Police have found that the emails were sent through a VPN (Virtual Private Network), making it tough for them to locate the perpetrators.
