Who is Bobby Kataria? Social media influencer arrested by Gurugram Police on charges of human trafficking

Bobby Kataria arrested : Social media influencer Bobby Kataria, real name Balwant Kataria has been arrested by Gurugram Police on charges of human trafficking. 

The arrest unfolded on Monday night at his office located in Gurugram Sector-109.

During the operation, police also conducted raids at Kataria's premises, seizing incriminating documents, several mobile phones, and cash.

As per the official statement of Gurugram Police PRO Sandeep Kumar, the arrest followed a complaint in which the complainant accused Kataria of taking Rs 4 lakh under the false promise of securing a job in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

Acting on information provided by a central agency, the Gurugram Police raided Kataria's office. The complainant alleged that Kataria had assured him of employment in the UAE and took Rs 4 lakh as part of this scam. Instead, Kataria sent the complainant and one of his friends to Laos.

The complainant managed to escape and sought assistance from Indian government officials, which facilitated his return to India. Once back, he filed a complaint against Kataria in Gurugram. 

The case has been registered against the social media influencer under charges of assault, human trafficking and section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
