Shot fired to intimidate Salman Khan, establish Bishnoi gang's dominance: Mumbai Police

PTC News Desk: Anmol Bishnoi had instructed the shooter to fire shots in the air outside Salman Khan's home to intimidate him, Mumbai Police claimed in the chargesheet filed in the Salman Khan house firing case.

According to the chargesheet, the instructions were part of a larger plot to establish the Bishnoi gang's dominance in Mumbai for financial and other advantages.

The chargesheet, which was submitted to the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court, includes transcripts of discussions between Anmol Bishnoi and shooter Vickykumar Gupta. Anmol, the younger brother of Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, allegedly instructed Gupta to fire in a way that would startle Khan and suggested that he smoke during the act in order to appear courageous on CCTV.

According to the chargesheet, Anmol Bishnoi told Vickykumar Gupta to shoot in a way that would scare 'Bhai' (Salman Khan), even if it took more than a minute.

"You will make history by doing this job, and your name will appear in all newspapers and other media," the 1,735-page chargesheet stated, quoting their chat.

On April 14, Gupta and Sagar Pal opened fire outside Khan's Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. Gupta, Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, Harpal Singh, and Anujkumar Thapan have all been arrested in connection with the case. Thapan allegedly committed suicide while in police custody. The remaining five are under judicial custody.

Anmol Bishnoi, who has claimed responsibility for the firing, resides in Canada. However, the IP address of the Facebook post for which he claimed responsibility was tracked to Portugal, according to a Mumbai police officer. The police have issued a lookout notice (LOC) for him.
