PTC News Desk: Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad has made a controversial statement, stating that he will pay Rs 11 lakh to anyone who chops off Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's tongue for his remarks on scrapping the reservation system.

Chandrashekar Bawankule, the Maharashtra BJP president, stated that he disagrees with the MLA's remarks. The BJP is a constituent of the Shiv Sena-led government in the state.

"While abroad, Rahul Gandhi stated that he intends to abolish India's reservation system. This has revealed the true face of the Congress," Gaikwad said.

"During his recent visit to the United States, Rahul Gandhi discussed eliminating reservations. It shows the mindset that is fundamentally opposed to reservations. I will reward anyone who cuts off Rahul Gandhi's tongue with Rs 11 lakh," Gaikwad stated. He stated that the Congress had defeated Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in the elections.

"Gandhi's statements are the greatest betrayal of the people. Communities such as Marathas, Dhangars, and OBCs are pushing for quota, but Gandhi is considering eliminating its benefits," the MLA stated.

"Rahul Gandhi used to show the Constitution book and spread the fake narrative that the BJP would change it. But it is the Congress that wants to set the country back 400 years," he continued.

Bawankule distanced the BJP from Gaikwad's views. "I will not support nor endorse Gaikwad's opinions. However, we must not forget that the first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, was opposed to reservations, claiming that they would impede progress."
