Severe cold conditions: School timings revised again in Noida

Severe cold conditions: As North India continues to shiver due to cold weather and dense fog, classes from nursery to class 8 in all schools in Noida and Greater Noida will begin at 10 a.m. from January 18 onwards.

Rahul Panwar, Gautam Buddh Nagar Basic Education Officer, stated that the new schedule would remain in effect until the district administration issued further directives. 


Previously, due to the cold weather in the area, nursery to class 8 was cancelled until January 16.

Meanwhile, students in grades 9 to 12 had their school hours changed to 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. last week, following a separate directive from the district inspector of schools. This schedule for Classes 9-12 will be in effect until January 20, as specified in the order.

Temperature drops to 6-8 degrees in Punjab

Meanwhile, in Punjab, Chandigarh and other nearby areas, the temperature dropped to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius today. 

Dense fog, low clouds and low visibility have become problems for commuters, thus increasing the chances of accidents due to thick fog.

In a tragic, dreadful and horrible mishap, four police cops were killed, and several others injured after a Punjab Armed Police bus collided with a tractor at Mukerian in the Hoshiarpur district of Punjab. 

The distressing mishap unfolded at around 6 am on Wednesday when the bus carrying the personnel of the Punjab Armed Police was coming from Jalandhar collided with a trailer on the side of the road. The tragic collision resulted in the life of an assistant sub-inspector and a woman officer among the deceased.
