Saif Ali Khan likely to lose Rs 15,000 cr ancestral property as court lifts stay order
PTC News Desk: Trouble doesn't seem to end for Saif Ali Khan as Bollywood actor might lose ancestral properties worth Rs 15,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh with majority in Bhopal.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has dismissed Khan's petition filed against government notice that declared Pataudi family's property as enemy property. Cenre is likely to gain control over the property after court lifted stay order on these assets.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court lifted the stay imposed on the ancestral properties, which could result in their acquisition under the Enemy Property Act, 1968.
According to the Act, the Central government can claim properties owned by individuals who migrated to Pakistan after Partition in 1947.
On December 13, 2024, a single bench of the High Court directed the Pataudi family to present their case to the appellate authority within 30 days. However, as of January 21, it remained uncertain whether the family had complied.
Given the ambiguity, the Bhopal district administration declined to comment on the matter. Bhopal Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh stated that no action would be taken until the High Court's order was clarified.
