Quran, pen and....: Tahawwur Rana demands three things in NIA custody, agency denies 'special treatment'
PTC News Desk: 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case plotter Tahawwur Rana was interrogated by the National Investigative Agency for the second consecutive day on Saturday to probe any larger conspiracies in connection with the case.
The Pakistani-Canadian national is now being held in a top-security facility under constant surveillance and strict conditions. According to the reports, he is under suicide watch inside the NIA’s New Delhi headquarters. His movements are constantly monitored through human presence and CCTV. He is confined to a 14x14-foot cell on the ground floor of the building, with multi-layered digital security systems ensuring no breach occurs.
As per the officials, Rana is being treated as any other arrested person and he is not being granted any special treatment.
“He requested for a copy of Quran which we provided. He is seen offering Namaz five times in his cell,” said an officer, describing Rana as a “religious man". The officials further said that besides, Quran he has demanded a pen and paper which have been provided. His usage of pen is constantly being monitored so that he doesn't harm himself.
