Weather update: No-let up in cold wave in Punjab, Haryana; minimum temperatures below average
PTC Web Desk: Cold wave conditions persisted in Punjab and Haryana on Thursday, as minimum temperatures remained below the seasonal average. Chandigarh, the shared capital of Punjab and Haryana, reported a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal, according to the Meteorological Department.
In Amritsar, the temperature dropped to 4.1 degrees Celsius, also two degrees below normal, while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded minimum temperatures of 6.9 and 6.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Other cities in Punjab, including Pathankot, Bathinda, Faridkot, and Gurdaspur, experienced cold weather conditions with temperatures ranging from 3.9 to 6.4 degrees Celsius. In Haryana, Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 7.6 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while Hisar reported a minimum of 7.5 degrees Celsius. Karnal, Narnaul, Rohtak, Bhiwani, and Sirsa registered minimum temperatures of 5.8, 9, 8.4, 8.3, and 8.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
