PTC News Desk: In Pune, an old man is said to have attacked a 27-year-old woman who was riding a two-wheeler with her kids. The woman said that the male, who was operating a vehicle at the time of the incident, attacked her because he was not allowed enough room to overtake.

After obtaining the victim's statement, Pune Police detained the man and his wife, who was with him at the time of the event.

The woman, Jerlyn D'Silva, said that the event happened on the Baner Pashan Link Road in an Instagram video. She claimed the man stepped out of his car, hit her in the face, and tugged her hair. The attack left D'Silva covered in blood, as shown in the video.4

"We were trailed by an elderly man for two kilometers. He turned left to catch me since he was speeding, and then he angrily got out of the car. He snatched my hair and gave me two punches. He was indifferent to the children. How safe is the city, may I ask? Why are people acting insanely? I demand that this man pay for the harm he caused to me.

"I had two kids with me, kuch bhi ho sakta tha (anything could have happened)," she stated.

Following information received, Pune Police detained the guy and his wife, who was present when the crime occurred, and filed a FIR against him under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

"The case has been registered at Chaturshrungi Police Station, and further investigations are underway," DCP Vijayakumar Magar stated in reference to the event.

This occurrence occurs in Pune, a city with a high rate of traffic accidents. Two persons were hurt last week when the son of NCP (Sharad Pawar) leader Bandu Gakwad's speeding SUV collided with a tempo-truck.

Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, two software engineers, were killed in May when a teenage driver collided his Porsche automobile at a high rate of speed with a bike.
