Pune : 50 students hospitalised after eating food at private coaching centre
Pune: In an unfortunate incident, over 50 students were reportedly hospitalised due to suspected food poisoning after eating food at a private coaching center located in the Khed tehsil of Pune district.
The shocking incident unfolded last night at a private coaching center located in the Khed tehsil of Pune district.
The coaching center, renowned for its preparation courses for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for engineering and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical studies, also provides boarding facilities for more than 500 students.
The students fell ill after dinner and experienced symptoms of food poisoning. Promptly, they were admitted to a nearby hospital for necessary treatment.
Fortunately, the condition of the affected students remained stable throughout their hospitalisation. After undergoing primary check-ups and receiving appropriate medical care, they were subsequently discharged from the hospital.
In response to this concerning incident, law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the root cause of the food poisoning. Samples of the food consumed by the students have been collected and sent for laboratory analysis to determine any potential contaminants or toxins.
The situation underscores the importance of ensuring food safety measures are rigorously implemented and maintained, particularly in institutions catering to large numbers of students.
