Pollution crisis hits home: 15 Indian cities among top 20 most polluted in world
Pollution alert: IQAir recently released the data for the worst air quality for 2022 and India was ranked eighth on the list. India dropped three places from the previous year, with Chad, Iraq, Pakistan, Bahrain and Bangladesh among the five most polluted countries.
According to IQAir's yearly report on global air quality, 15 out of the top 20 most polluted cities in the world are Indian. All of the Indian cities featured in the list exceeded the World Health Organization's recommended levels by more than ten times.
Despite being highly mentioned on the list, India did not take the top slot. Lahore, Pakistan, currently holds that position.
