PM Modi's playful interaction with MPs at Parliament canteen: 'I'm going to punish you'
PTC News Desk: In a surprising move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited fellow MPs to join him for lunch at the parliament canteen, catching them off guard.
"I'm going to punish you today, come with me," the Prime Minister jokingly said to the MPs before the lunch.
The vegetarian lunch included dishes like rice, daal, khichdi, and til ka laddoo. MPs from various parties, including Ram Mohan Naidu from TDP, Ritesh Pandey from BSP, BJP's Ladakh MP Jamyang Namgyal, Union Minister L Murugun, Sasmit Patra of BJD, and BJP's Maharashtra MP Heena Gavit, attended the lunch.
During the 45-minute lunch, MPs engaged in casual conversations with the Prime Minister, asking about his lifestyle and how he manages his busy schedule. "It was a purely casual, cordial meeting with the PM for lunch at the MPs' canteen. It was a good gesture," one of the MPs shared.
Reflecting on the experience, another MP mentioned, "It did not feel like we were sitting with the Prime Minister."
The discussions ranged from Modi's surprise visit to Nawaz Sharif to his foreign tours and the Statue of Unity. Additionally, the Prime Minister talked about the Abu Dhabi temple project, which he laid the foundation stone for in 2018 and is set to visit next week, highlighting India's soft power.
