PM Modi to flag off Rajasthan's first Vande Bharat Express
New Delhi, April 12: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be flagging off Rajasthan's first Vande Bharat Express train via video conferencing. This semi-high-speed passenger train, running between the Ajmer and Delhi Cantt railway stations, will be the world's first such train to run on high-rise overhead electric territory.
The regular service of this Vande Bharat Express will start on April 13, with stops in Jaipur, Alwar and Gurgaon. The train is expected to cover the distance between Delhi Cantt. and Ajmer in 5 hours and 15 minutes, as opposed to the current fastest train, Shatabdi Express, which takes 6 hours 15 minutes.
This launch comes after the Prime Minister flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express and the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express in April, as well as the Bhopal-New Delhi route in January. All of these trains are equipped with state-of-the-art amenities for passengers, providing them with a faster, more comfortable, and more convenient travel experience.
The launch of the Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express will improve connectivity to major tourist destinations in Rajasthan, including Pushkar and the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, as well as boost socio-economic development in the region.
