PM Modi explores Kaziranga National Park, feeds elephants, and spots one-horned Rhino on safari
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi indulged in a memorable wildlife experience at Assam's Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on Saturday morning. Accompanied by park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials, PM Modi embarked on an elephant and jeep safari, immersing himself in the natural beauty of the region.
The adventure began with an elephant safari in the Mihimukh area of the Central Kohora Range of the park, followed by a jeep safari within the same range. During his excursion, PM Modi interacted with the majestic creatures, even feeding sugar cane to elephants named Lakhimai, Pradyumna, and Phoolmai.

In a tweet, PM Modi expressed admiration for the diverse wildlife of Kaziranga, emphasizing its status as not only a habitat for rhinoceros but also for its substantial elephant population and various other species. Sharing captivating images of the scenic landscapes, he highlighted the unparalleled beauty of Kaziranga.
PM Modi's visit to Kaziranga was part of his two-day trip to Assam, during which he embarked on various initiatives aimed at fostering development in the region. Among these endeavors, he is scheduled to dedicate the Sela Tunnel, launch the UNNATI scheme, and inaugurate projects totaling over Rs 42,000 crore across North East India, Assam, West Bengal, and Varanasi.

Nestled in the heart of Assam, Kaziranga National Park is celebrated globally as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, primarily known for its magnificent population of the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros.
This esteemed park showcases a diverse terrain comprising dense forests, towering elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshlands, and tranquil shallow pools.
Established as a National Park in 1974, Kaziranga stands as a testament to nature's resilience, remaining largely untouched by human presence. It serves as a crucial sanctuary for wildlife, particularly the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, ensuring their continued survival in the wild.

• At 10:30 am, PM Modi will partake in the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit North East' program in Itanagar, dedicating the Sela Tunnel to the nation.
• The Prime Minister will unveil the UNNATI scheme, valued at ₹10,000 crore.
• PM Modi will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay foundation stones for various development projects across Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh.
• Around 12:15 pm, PM Modi will inaugurate the 125-ft high 'Statue of Valour' honoring the legendary Ahom general Lachit Barphukan in Jorhat. Subsequently, he will participate in a public program in Jorhat, inaugurating projects worth over ₹17,500 crore in Assam.
• PM Modi will then proceed to Siliguri, West Bengal, for a public event at 3:45 pm, inaugurating projects totaling around ₹4,500 crore.
• Around 7 PM, the prime minister will arrive in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, to perform Darshan and Pooja at Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
