PM Modi criticises 'venom of appeasement' in Azamgarh speech
PTC News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday, where he spoke out against what he termed as the "venom of appeasement" weakening in the face of his government's developmental initiatives in the state. Responding to a remark made by Lalu Yadav regarding his family, PM Modi asserted that the entire nation constitutes "Modi ka Parivar" (Modi's family).
"As Uttar Pradesh progresses towards greater development, the influence of appeasement politics is waning... Those inclined towards dynastic politics are bewildered and resorting to criticism of Modi every day. They claim Modi has no family of his own. However, they forget that the 140 crore people of this country are 'Modi ka Parivar'," he stated.
In a show of solidarity, several senior BJP leaders appended the phrase 'Modi ka Parivar' to their names on social media platforms in response to Lalu Yadav's remarks.
Azamgarh, a region once considered a stronghold of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's family, witnessed PM Modi's address. He hailed the increasing prominence of Azamgarh, noting a shift where events were previously centered in Delhi but are now being hosted in Azamgarh, drawing attendees from various parts of the country.
PM Modi directed his criticism towards the Opposition's INDIA bloc, accusing it of perpetuating casteism and dynastic politics.
"The development and affection Azamgarh is experiencing is unsettling the INDI alliance, which thrives on casteism, dynasty, and vote bank politics. For decades, Purvanchal has been ensnared in the web of caste-based politics and appeasement. However, over the past decade, the region has witnessed a surge in developmental activities, particularly in the last seven years under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The people have witnessed the eradication of the 'mafia raj' and extremism, and are now witnessing the establishment of law and order," PM Modi asserted.
PM Modi also made a bold declaration regarding the future of Azamgarh, envisioning it as "Ajanmagarh," a bastion of development for eternity, under his administration's stewardship.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh commended the efforts of the BJP government, attributing a significant change in the identity of Azamgarh to their initiatives.
"Reflecting on Azamgarh's identity a decade ago, it was marred by criminal and mafia activities. Today, thanks to Prime Minister Modi's interventions, Azamgarh is witnessing substantial investments in projects worth crores of rupees. Over the past decade, not only has Azamgarh experienced a significant improvement in security, but it has also been infused with modern infrastructure. We extend our gratitude to PM Modi for this transformation," he remarked.
During his visit, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for projects totaling ₹34,700 crore in the state.
PM Modi expressed his commitment to accelerating the pace of development, stating, "I am working tirelessly and propelling the nation forward swiftly to realize the vision of a developed India by 2047."
