The high-level discussion with the prime minister took place against the backdrop of four days of consecutive terror strikes in many districts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Reasi, Kathua, and Doda.

PM instructs officials to implement comprehensive counter-terror measures in J&K

PTC News Desk: Ajit Doval, the national security advisor, and other senior officials convened a high-level conference on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, which has seen a spate of terror strikes in recent days.

The Prime Minister received a thorough briefing on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir during the meeting, along with an update on the ongoing counter-terrorism operations. In order to restore peace in the Valley, the Prime Minister gave the meeting's attendees instructions to use all of the nation's counter-terrorism resources.


Along with Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, and Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, PM Modi also spoke on the use of security forces and counter-terrorism initiatives.

The Prime Minister was also updated by Sinha on the initiatives being carried out by local government. Over the past four days, terrorists have attacked four locations in the districts of Reasi, Kathua, and Doda, murdering nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan while injuring seven security officers and numerous others.

Security personnel conducted extensive searches in the forest belts of many Jammu and Kashmir districts in an effort to locate and neutralise the ultras responsible for the most recent terror strikes in the Union Territory. In the meantime, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has offered a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to the arrest of four terrorists who were involved in two attacks in the Doda district. The police also issued sketches of the terrorists.

"Jammu and Kashmir Police has released sketches of four terrorists who are believed to be in the upper reaches of Bhaderwah, Thathri, Gandoh and carrying out terror-related activities," according to a police spokesperson.
