Pakistan Government's 'X' handle suspended in India in aftermath of Pahalgam massacre
PTC News Desk: India has suspended Pakistan Government's 'X' (formerly twitter) account following horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
Earlier, in a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, India announced a series of diplomatic actions against Pakistan in response to the horrific Pahalgam massacre including suspension of Indus Water Treaty and closure of Attari-Wagah border. The Indian government also banned Pakistani nationals from entering India.
At a press briefing on Wednesday evening, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced the measures. One of the key measure is scaling down of diplomatic missions in each country. Both the Indian and Pakistani high commissions will reduce their personnel strength from 55 to 30, to be completed by May 1.
India has also expelled all the Air, Defence and Naval advisors from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. These personnel have been declared as Persona non-grata and ordered to leave the country within a week. Menawhile, India will also withdraw its military advisors from its own high commission in Islamabad.
India has also suspended the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme for Pakistani nationals. All the existing visas issued under this scheme stands cancelled with immediate effect.
