Pahalgam terror attack: Families seek swift justice, want perpetrators to be killed on the spot
PTC Web Desk: A wave of grief and outrage has swept across the country following a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 persons, most of them tourists. The victims’ families are now demanding immediate and harsh action against the terrorists responsible for the massacre.
Among the victims was Neeraj Udhwani, who had travelled to Pahalgam for a holiday with his wife. While she survived the attack, Neeraj tragically lost his life. His uncle, Bhagwan Das, speaking to ANI, called for instant justice. “He died in the terrorist attack. His wife is safe. They had gone there for a holiday. We demand from the government that the accused be killed… I say that the terrorist, irrespective of religion or caste, should be killed on the spot,” he said.
Rajshree Akul, sister-in-law of another victim, Atul Mone, said, “He was shot in the stomach. We request the government to impose the harshest punishment on the terrorists without delay."
Another heart-wrenching story emerged from the family of Sushil Nathaniel, a 58-year-old LIC officer who had travelled to Jammu and Kashmir with his wife, daughter, and son to celebrate Easter. According to his cousin Sanjay Kumrawat, the terrorists had asked for Nathaniel’s name and forced him to kneel. “They asked him to recite the Kalma. When he said he could not, they shot him,” Kumrawat added.
In a horrifying turn, Nathaniel’s 35-year-old daughter, Akanksha, rushed to her father's aid upon seeing him attacked, only to be shot in the leg. She is currently undergoing treatment in Jammu and Kashmir.
Kumrawat said the act was not only cowardly but must also serve as a wake-up call for strict action. “The strictest action should be taken against the terrorists who killed 26 innocent people. This should set an example for the world.”
Gemma Vikas, another relative of Nathaniel, expressed her anguish and demanded immediate retaliation. “They had gone to Kashmir to celebrate Easter, and now the festive joy has turned into mourning. We want the government to hunt down and eliminate the terrorists immediately.”
