Noida shivers: 10 vehicles pile up due to dense fog, 4 injured

Noida shivers: Biting cold gripped several places of Northern and North-eastern parts of the country especially in Delhi, NCR, Noida and nearby areas as temperature dropped to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius today. 

Dense fog, low clouds and low visibility persists across Nation has become a problem for commuters, thus increasing the chances of accidents in the city due to thick fog. 


In a tragic, shocking and shivering incident, amid dense fog in Noida and Greater Noida, a multi-vehicle pile-up resulted in four people sustaining injuries.

The fog mishap unfolded on Tuesday morning at around 8:45 am in Greater Noida. The incident occurred when a canter truck collided with another truck while taking a left turn shortly after crossing an underpass. 
This resulted in pile up of 10 more vehicles leaving four people injured. 

The injured were identified as Kailash Prashant, Apoorv Parmar, Keshav Singh, and Mohan Swaroop.

The four injured were immediately taken to the community health centre (CHC) in Dadri. Out of four injured, three Prashant, Parmar, and Singh were discharged following the administration of first aid however the fourth is still undergoing the treatment in the hospital. 

Amidst the biting cold, the India Meteorological Department issued a red alert in specific areas of Punjab and Haryana. The alert emphasises that cold to severe cold day conditions will persist in parts of these states until January 16.

Meanwhile, Monday witnessed sub-zero temperatures in numerous locations across Punjab and Haryana, underscoring the severity of the ongoing coldwave.
