NIA places Rs 10 lakh bounty on Anmol Bishnoi, linked to Baba Siddique’s murder

PTC Web Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has placed a Rs 10 lakh bounty on Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is believed to be currently living in Canada. Anmol Bishnoi fled India last year using a fake passport and has been seen in both Kenya and Canada this year. This reward was announced shortly after Anmol's name was linked to the murder of NCP leader and veteran politician Baba Siddique earlier this month. The police suspect that Lawrence Bishnoi's gang orchestrated Siddique's assassination, with Anmol allegedly giving the order.

The NIA has included Anmol Bishnoi in two charge sheets related to cases from 2022. He is also wanted in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in May 2022.

Earlier, the Mumbai police issued a lookout notice for Anmol after a shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence. Anmol had claimed responsibility for that incident on social media and has been a wanted individual ever since.

A Mumbai court denied bail to an accused involved in the Salman Khan case, stating that the shooters acted with the "intention or knowledge" to kill him under the direction of Anmol Bishnoi, who is currently jailed. Following Baba Siddique's murder on October 12, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the killing, with Anmol suspected of being the mastermind.

According to the crime branch of the Mumbai police, the shooters involved in Siddique's murder communicated with Anmol Bishnoi via the messaging app Snapchat prior to the attack. Investigations revealed that the shooters were in direct contact with Anmol and Pune-based Praveen Lonkar, who is alleged to be the mastermind, and they routinely deleted their messages after receiving them.

Reports indicate that Anmol sent the shooters photos of Baba Siddique and his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, before the assassination took place.
