Nepal bus accident: Two Indians among 12 killed as bus falls in river

Nepal bus accident: A road accident in the Dang District of mid-western Nepal killed at least 12 people, including two Indian nationals, according to police.

Only the identities of eight people killed in the accident, which occurred late Friday night in Bhalubang, are known at this time.


"The passenger bus was en route to Kathmandu from Banke's Nepalgunj but it veered off the bridge and fell into the Rapti River. We only have ascertained the identity of eight deceased passengers, which includes two Indians," Ujjwal Bahadur Singh, Chief Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office, Bhalubang, stated.

According to police, an additional 22 passengers were injured in the bus accident.

The deceased Indians have been identified as Yogendra Ram (67) of Malahi, Bihar, and Mune (31) of Uttar Pradesh.

"The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Lamahi Hospital for postmortem," the Chief Inspector said.
