NEET UG row: Paper leak mastermind reveals price of question paper
NEET UG row: The mastermind behind the NEET paper leak case Amit Anand has reportedly admitted that the question paper was leaked a day before the exam. He also revealed the price for which he used to 'sell' the question papers. In his confession, he describes how the students had to memorise the answers to the questions one day before the exam, reported ABP news.
Students were charged lakhs of rupees for questions.
The accused confessed that the paper was leaked the day before the NEET. The question paper and answers were given to the candidates on the same day and they were instructed to memorise the answers overnight. The cost of the question paper was Rs 30-32 lakh.
The mastermind behind the paper leak stated in his confession that the police found the burned remains of the NEET question paper and answer sheet in his flat. He also admitted to leaking question papers in the past.
"I went to meet Junior Engineer Sikandar at the Danapur Municipal Corporation office for some personal work... I told Sikandar that I can leak the paper of any competitive exam and help candidates pass it. Sikandar then told me that he had 4-5 candidates who are preparing for NEET and asked me to help them pass the exam," Amit Anand's confession stated.
Protests have broken out across the country in response to the alleged NEET question paper leak. There is also a call to cancel the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2024 and hold a re-test. As of now, 13 people have been arrested in connection with the NEET paper leak. These arrests include that of Sikandar, a Junior Engineer from the Danapur Municipality.
