NEET PG 2024: NEET exam to be conducted in two shifts on August 11

NEET PG 2024:  The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences said on Friday that the NEET-PG entrance exam will take place on August 11 in two shifts.

“In continuation of NBEMS notice dated 22.06.2024, the conduct of NEET-PG 2024 has been rescheduled. The NEET-PG shall now be conducted on 11th August 2024 in two shifts. The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET-PG 2024 shall continue to be 15th August 2024,” the board said in a notification.

As a "precautionary measure," the Center had postponed the NEET-PG exam until June 22.

The Ministry of Health said in a statement that it had "decided to undertake a thorough assessment of the robustness of processes of NEET-PG Entrance Examination, conducted by National Board of Examination for medical students, in light of the recent incidents of allegations regarding the integrity of certain competitive examinations."

The ministry had previously said that it will carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the NEET-PG's robustness, which would be carried out for medical students by the NBEMS in collaboration with its technical partner TCS.

All post-MBBS DNB courses, post-MBBS straight 6-year DrNB courses, and NBEMS diploma courses provided by medical institutes across the nation need passing the NEET-PG, a national entrance exam.

In addition to NEET-PG, the Center canceled the UGC-NET exam, citing information it had received regarding the "integrity of the exam" being jeopardized. The new date of the UGC-NET exam is August/September.

The UGC-NET is an exam used to evaluate candidates for PhD course admission, assistant professor appointments, and junior research fellowship awards.

Postponed as a preventive measure in the midst of the controversy over purported anomalies in the administration of tests, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC-NET will now take place from July 25 to July 27.

PhD applications in Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences are accepted through the CSIR UGC-NET.
