Nanakmatta Gurudwara Kar Sewa Pramukh shot dead by unidentified men: Police
PTC News Desk: In a tragic incident, Nanakmatta Gurudwara Kar Sewa chief, Baba Tarsem Singh, was fatally shot by unidentified assailants in the town of Nanakmatta in Uttarakhand's Udham Singh Nagar on Thursday morning, as confirmed by the police.
According to reports, two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire indiscriminately at Baba Tarsem Singh inside the dera around 6:30 am. Despite being rushed to a hospital in Khatima, Singh succumbed to his injuries.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manjunath TC was present at the scene, assessing the situation. Additionally, Uttarakhand's Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), AP Anshuman, provided details, stating that the identified assailants targeted Nanakmatta Gurdwara Kar Sewa Pramukh Baba Tarsem Singh. He affirmed that law enforcement authorities, including several police teams and the Special Task Force (STF), are mobilised to apprehend the perpetrators. Anshuman also mentioned plans to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the murder.

He reassured the public, affirming that the law-and-order situation in the area remains under control. Nanakmatta Gurudwara, also referred to as Nanakmatta Sahib, holds immense historical and religious significance for Sikhs, being a revered pilgrimage site.
