'Muslims are safe if Hindus are safe': Yogi Aditynath on minorities in Uttar Pradesh
PTC News Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reiterated that people of all the religions are safe in his state emphasising his commitment to safeguard the well-being of every citizen.
"A Muslim family is the safest among a hundred Hindu families. They will have the freedom to practice all their religious deeds. But can 50 Hindus be safe among 100 Muslim families? No. Bangladesh is an example. Before this, Pakistan was an example. What happened in Afghanistan? If there is smoke or someone is being hit, we should be careful before we get hit. That is what needs to be taken care of," Yogi said.
Reaffirming his role as a Yogi, he said, "I am a citizen of Uttar Pradesh, and as a Yogi, I wish for everyone's happiness. I believe in everyone’s support and development."
On rising temple-mosque disputes in several states, Adityanath questioned the construction of mosques on "Hindu sites", stating it went against Islamic principles. He stated that the government would restore all the temples in Sambhal, where severe violence erupted last year during a court-mandated survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid, leading to the deaths of five people.
