Mumbai bus accident CCTV: Driver grabs bags, jumps out of the window after accident
PTC News Desk: CCTV visuals inside the BEST bus accident in Kurla that claimed lives of seven people show driver Sanjay More collecting backpacks from the cabin before jumping out of the broken window after the deadly accident.
The driver Sanjay More was arrested under culpable homicide not amounting to murder charges and was remanded in police custody till December 21.
The visuals from the CCTV show passengers panicking after the electric Bus rammed into vehicles and struck passengers in a crowded area. While some passengers are seen trying to grab handles and hold poles for support, others got up from their seats and looked out of windows to see what was going on outside.
Amid the chaos that erupted after the bus was moving uncontrollably passengers can be seen in the video seeking support while holding poles and handle, while others in an ambush looking out of the window to see what has happened.
When the bus comes to a halt, the passengers try to kick open the door. They climb on top of the seats and jump out of the windows. As soon as the bus halts, More can be seen collecting his bags from the cabin and jumped out of a shattered window on the left side of the bus. Meanwhile the conductor got off the bus from the rear side of the bus.
According to the investigation, More had no experience in driving EVs and went through only a 10-day training.
The accident took place on Monday at 9:30 pm when the bus went amok and rammed intro vehicles striking passengers and claimed lives of seven people.
