Mumbai Airport Nightmare: Passengers, including children, stranded on Doha flights

Mumbai Airport Nightmare: An IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Doha, Qatar, has been significantly delayed, with passengers reporting that they were confined inside the aircraft for nearly five hours before being asked to de-board. The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 3:55 am, was halted due to a "technical issue" with the aircraft.

Approximately 250 to 300 passengers are stranded at Mumbai airport. According to reports, passengers were initially not allowed to leave the plane as immigration services had closed. After persistent requests, they were eventually moved to the immigration waiting area.

One passenger travelling with his wife and child expressed frustration, saying, "We were not allowed to deboard the plane because immigration was over. We had to insist on being moved to a holding area. No official is addressing our concerns."

Another traveller highlighted the lack of basic necessities, stating, "It is chaos here. People are worried about their jobs. Passengers, including children, are waiting without access to water or food."

IndiGo has yet to provide an official statement. However, the airline responded to a user on X (formerly Twitter) who claimed the flight was "stuck" at Mumbai Airport due to a technical problem. IndiGo acknowledged the inconvenience, stating, "We sincerely regret the inconvenience."

In a related incident, passengers on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Darbhanga, Bihar, faced difficulties earlier on Saturday. The flight, No. SG 495, was reportedly canceled just five minutes before boarding. Passengers had a heated exchange with airline officials, and complaints suggest that SpiceJet has been frequently canceling flights on this route in recent months. The airline has not yet issued a statement regarding this situation.
