Mukhtar Ansari's wife declared fugitive, Rs 50,000 bounty announced
PTC News Desk: In a significant development, late gangster turned politician Mukhtar Ansari's wife Afsha Ansari is absconding and has been declared a fugitive by Uttar Pradesh police.
The Ghazipur police had released a list of 29 criminals who are absconding and wanted in serious cases such as murder, robbery under the Gangster Act. Afsha Ansar has topped the list who has been absconding for years and did not surface even after her husband's death.
Mukhtar Ansar was a gangster turned politician who was convicted in a murder case. He was also associated with his rivalry with Brijesh Singh a rival contractor, and was associated with the BSP and the Quami Ekta Dal parties.
Ansari, who was in jail, died in March 2024, due to a cardiac arrest while being treated. His family alleged that he had been poisoned in jail, claiming he had been given a poisonous substance in his food on multiple occasions, thereby leading to a heart attack.
