Mihir Shah, accused in Mumbai BMW hit-and-run, sentenced to 14 days in jail

A Mumbai court placed Mihir Shah, the primary accused in the hit-and-run case, under judicial detention till July 30.

Mihir Shah, accused in Mumbai BMW hit-and-run, sentenced to 14 days in jail

PTC News Desk: A Mumbai court on Tuesday placed Mihir Shah, the primary accused in the Worli BMW hit-and-run case, under judicial custody till July 30. 

The 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa was killed when the 24-year-old son of a Shiv Sena leader is said to have crashed his BMW into a two-wheeler. This led to the politician's arrest. At 5:30 am on Worli's busy Anni Besant Road, the BMW struck their two-wheeler from the back, killing the woman and injuring her husband Pradip Nakhwa. 


Mihir Shah allegedly drove off towards the Bandra Worli Sea Link while the woman stayed on the car's bonnet and became tangled in its wheels for around 1.5 kilometers, according to the police investigation.

It was reported by a Mumbai Police official that Shah was drunk when he crashed his automobile into the two-wheeler. In order to learn more about the sequence of events, a Mumbai Police team had reenacted the accident scene. They also questioned Mihir Shah, 24, along with his family driver and co-accused Rajrishi Bidawat. 

When the accident occurred, Bidawat was inside the vehicle. According to the authorities, Rajesh Shah, a leader for the Shiv Sena, gave the driver instructions to switch seats with Mihir.
