Meerut murder: Accused wife and her lover refuse food, demand drugs in jail
PTC News Desk: Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla who have been arrested for killing her husband are struggling with drug withdrawal symptoms in jail. Reportedly the duo is addicted to drugs and are experiencing severe restlessness ever since they have been put into custody.
Both the accused are being counselled at the de-addiction centre within the jail and staff has been directed to keep a close watch on them. Muskaan did not eat anything on her first day at the jail, but has been having her meals since then.
Muskan and Sahil were sent to judicial custody and sent to Chaudhary Chanran Singh District jail in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut. Initially they had demanded to be kept in the same cell but according to the jail regulations, they were kept separately. Muskan was placed in the women's barrack, while Sahil was kept in the men's section.
Senior Jail Superintendent Dr Viresh Raj Sharma said that all necessary medical facilities are available for inmates. Both Muskan and Sahil are under close observation.
Additionally the post mortem reports of Saurabh Rajput reveal that he was subjected to extreme brutality allegedly carried out by his wife Muskan Rastogi and his lover Sahil Shukla.
