MEA summons Bangladesh diplomat day after Dhaka summoned Indian envoy
PTC News Desk: Ministry of External Affairs has summoned Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Nural Islam on Monday. The summon comes a day after Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka, Pranay Verma was summoned by the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry.
The Bangladesh Foreign Ministry has raised concerns over fencing the Bangladesh-India Border."
In a statement, the Bangladeshi foreign ministry said,"Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Ambassador Md Jashim Uddin on Sunday expressed the deep concern of the Government of Bangladesh to the High Commissioner of India Pranay Verma at his office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the recent activities of the Border Security Force (BSF) of India along the Bangladesh-India Border."
Bangladesh government stressed that the activities like the "unauthorized attempt" to build barbed wire fencing, along with the associated operational actions by the BSF, "have led to tensions and disturbances along the border."
