Manipur violence: Fifth accused arrested in horrific viral video case
Manipur shocker: The distressing footage from Manipur gripped tension and chaos across Manipur. The horrific video shows two women being paraded naked by a mob, subjected to molestation, and dragged to a field where they were allegedly gang-raped sparked widespread national concern.
In the major breakthrough, Manipur Police arrested the fifth accused in connection with the Manipur shocker.

On Friday, four people have been arrested in the horrifying viral video of women being paraded naked surfaced from Manipur and were remanded to 11-day police custody.
Manipur Police also took to their official Twitter handle and wrote, "This is the fifth arrest made so far in connection with the months-old video, which went viral days ago."
All-out efforts are being taken to arrest the remaining culprits by conducting raids at many suspected hideouts, Manipur police said in a tweet.Five arrested so far in viral video case.

Be it political leaders, MLAs, journalists, doctors, actors, and even the general public, each and everyone is coming forward to express their concern, anger, and views over the Manipur violence.
Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey expressed her strong condemnation of the viral video of women being paraded naked and allegedly sexually assaulted.
Amidst a nationwide outcry over the appalling incident in Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced that two individuals, including the primary perpetrator, have been apprehended. He emphasized that his government would spare no effort in seeking the death penalty for the accused.
The unrest began on May 3, triggered by the All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) holding a solidarity march across districts to oppose the Manipur High Court's order. The court had directed the state government to recommend the inclusion of the Meitei community in the Scheduled Tribes (STs) list to the Centre.

The majority Meitei community, which occupies the Imphal valley and nearby areas, sought the ST status keeping in view their increasing population and increased requirement of land so that they could purchase lands in the hilly areas.
