Madhya Pradesh: Children among 13 dead, as tractor-trolley overturns
PTC News Desk: In Piplodi, Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district, on Sunday night, a tractor-trolley crashed, killing at least 13 people—four of them children—and injuring another 15. The victims were traveling from Motipura village in Rajasthan to Kulampur in Rajgarh as part of a wedding celebration.
According to Rajgarh collector Harsh Dikshit, two of the injured were transported to Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal for advanced care after suffering serious head and chest injuries. Thirteen of the injured were sent to the district hospital. He told news agency PTI, "The toll is unlikely to increase as the two severely injured persons are out of danger."
Prominent authorities, comprising the superintendent of police and the collector, hastened to the accident scene, which was situated approximately 30 kilometers away from the Rajgarh district seat.
What transpired in the Piplodi tractor-trolley accident?
Between forty and fifty individuals were in the wedding procession when the tractor-trolley lost control and flipped close to Piplodi village.
"The wedding procession, consisting of forty to fifty individuals, traveled by tractor-trolley from Motipura in the Rajasthani Jhalawar district to Kumalpur in the Rajgarh region. Near Piplodi village, the tractor-trolley lost control and toppled," Dikshit continued.
The driver was intoxicated, and the trolley was overcrowded, according to an injured man. Trapped beneath the overturned tractor-trolley were individuals. JCB equipment worked late into the night to assist pull them out.
CM Mohan Yadav and President Murmu offer their sympathies
President Droupadi Murmu prayed for the injured people's quick recovery and sent her sincere condolences to the relatives of the departed.
It is quite tragic to learn that numerous persons perished in a traffic accident in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh area. President Murmu wrote in an X post, "I wish for the quick recovery of the injured and offer my sincere condolences to the families who lost dear ones.
Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav said Rajasthan police have arrived at the scene and the state government is in communication with them.
"It is really tragic to learn that a tractor-trolley on Piplodi Road in Rajgarh district caused the untimely deaths of thirteen people from the Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The Collector, SP Rajgarh, and Leader Narayan Singh Panwar are all present at the location. The Rajasthan police have also arrived at the location, and we are in contact with the government of Rajasthan. While some critically injured patients are being treated at Bhopal, others are receiving care at the District Hospital in Rajgarh.My sympathies are with the families who have lost a loved one. "I hope the injured people heal quickly," CM Yadav wrote in an X post.
