LPG price cut: 14.2Kg cylinder prices revised, 19Kg cylinder prices reduced by Rs 30-31; check city-wise prices

The cost of cooking gas or LPG cylinders for Indian nationals has been adjusted as of July 1, 2024. For the first time since March 9, 2024, Indian Oil Corporation, the largest oil marketing firm, has updated the rates for its 14.2 kg cylinders. In urban areas, the OMC dropped the price of a 19KG LPG cylinder from Rs 30 to Rs 31.

PTC News Desk: Indian Oil has announced its latest revisions to LPG prices, marking the first adjustment in over four months.

Here's a breakdown of the updated prices across major metro cities:

14.2 Kg Cylinder Prices:


  • Delhi: The price remains unchanged at Rs 803 per cylinder, effective from July 1.
  • Mumbai: Priced at Rs 802.50 per cylinder, Mumbai offers the lowest rate among Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai.
  • Kolkata: The costliest among the four metro cities, Kolkata's 14.2 Kg cylinder is priced at Rs 829.
  • Chennai: In Chennai, the price stands at Rs 818.50 per cylinder.

19 Kg Cylinder Prices:

Indian Oil has also adjusted the prices for 19 Kg cylinders as follows:

  • Delhi: Reduced by Rs 30 to Rs 1,646 per cylinder, down from Rs 1,676.
  • Mumbai: Decreased by Rs 31 to Rs 1,598 per cylinder, previously Rs 1,629.
  • Kolkata: Lowered by Rs 31 to Rs 1,756 per cylinder, from Rs 1,787.
  • Chennai: Reduced to Rs 1,809.50 per cylinder, down by Rs 31 from Rs 1,840.50.

In June 2024, Indian Oil had already slashed prices for 19 Kg cylinders by Rs 69 to Rs 72 across the four metro cities.
