Religious miracle: Lost dog makes miraculous return to home after travelling nearly 250 km on its own
Religious miracle: In a heartwarming and miraculous turn of events, a black Indie dog fondly known as Maharaj has made a return to its home in Yamagarni village, Nipani taluk, Belagavi district.
The elderly canine, a beloved figure in the community, was recently honored with a grand celebration by the villagers after its incredible journey.
Maharaj, who is quite advanced in age, had been accompanying his owner, Kamalesh Kumbhar, on a pilgrimage to Pandharpur in South Maharashtra. Kumbhar, a devout 'Warkari,' undertakes this journey every year for Ashadha Ekadashi and Kartiki Ekadashi. This year, Maharaj joined him on the trip, showing a fondness for the bhajans sung during the 'Wari padayatra.'
During their visit to the Vithoba temple, Kumbhar noticed that Maharaj was missing. Despite a thorough search, he could not locate the dog and was told that Maharaj might have left with another group. Disheartened, Kumbhar returned to his village on July 14, only to find Maharaj waiting for him at his doorstep the very next day.
To everyone's amazement, Maharaj had traveled approximately 250 kilometers back to Yamagarni on his own. The dog appeared well-fed and in good health, prompting an outpouring of joy and relief from Kumbhar and the villagers. The return of Maharaj was celebrated with a grand feast, as the community attributed the miraculous journey to the blessings of Lord Panduranga
