Om Birla wins Lok Sabha Speaker election, defeats INDIA Bloc's K Suresh
PTC News Desk: In a rare race, Om Birla, a three-time BJP MP, defeated K Suresh, the nominee of the INDIA group, by voice voting to win the position of Speaker of the Lok Sabha for a second time on Tuesday.
Birla was beaming as he took the Speaker's chair, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju showed him some courtesy as they guided him to the platform.
Om Birla was congratulated by PM Modi on winning a second term as Speaker.

Additionally, Rahul Gandhi "congratulated" Om Birla on "behalf of the entire INDIA bloc" while wearing an all-white outfit.
