Light rain lashes in parts of Delhi, adjoining cities; GRAP 3 restrictions rolled back
PTC News Desk: The temperature continues to plunge as cold wave grips national capital in the early hours of Monday along with light downpour. The IMD also predicted a "generally cloudy sky with light rain" for the city on Monday.
The residents of Delhi and adjoining cities experienced light rainfall as a layer of fog engulfed the national capital on Monday. The weather office has predicted a cloudy sky and light rain today.
Several night shelters were set up at other places in the city, including AIIMS, Lodhi Road and under the Nizamuddin flyover.
Meanwhile, a panel of air pollution in Delhi-NCR has announced to revoke Stage 3 restrictions under Graded Response Action Plan following a decline in air pollution levels, however restrictions under Stage 1 and Stage 2 will remain in place.
Diesel trucks transporting non-essential goods were prohibited from entering Delhi, and the open burning of garbage and biomass was strictly forbidden. Additionally, schools were instructed to shift classes up to Grade 5 to a hybrid mode of learning under Stage 3 provisions.
